Alternative Essex Wedding Photography – A Beautiful Braxted Park Micro Wedding

Not first, not second, but third time lucky for my gorgeous couple Nick & Sarah.  Due to these unprecedented times in 2020, Nick and Sarah had to change their original wedding plans to fit in with the new Covid 19 restrictions...and just as they thought things were sailing ahead calmly, the UK Government decided to change the goal posts again and tighten the restrictions even more (no judgement here, its just the way things were at the time).  Braxted Park did their part AMAZINGLY, to make the day run as smooth as possible.  Every single person that was working that day could not have been more accommodating and this makes my job as an alternative wedding photographer sooooo much easier to capture awesome images.

Micro Weddings Rock

I got to spend time with Sarah whilst she got her hair and makeup done along with her daughter.   It really was a super chilled morning with these guys, so much so that the time just flew by. The weather Gods ended up playing ball with us on the day, but it was very touch and go as to whether we were going to be able to have the ceremony in or outside.  The ceremony ended up being inside, but the rooms are so elaborately decadent and vastly elegant that this was not an issue. They spaced the guest seats out in such a way, that it felt like there were so many more people present than the 26 that were actually in attendance.  An amazing achievement for a 2020 ‘micro wedding’.  This wedding was the absolute living proof that micro equals ‘BEST DAY EVER’

After the ceremony, we were allowed to spend time in the grounds at Braxted Park, and they didn’t disappoint.  The gardens are perfectly manicured, which was an ideal setting for some alternative wedding photography.  There were so many nooks and crannies to explore, and I managed to fill some of them with fabulous ‘just married’ images.  Due to the current restrictions, we weren’t allowed to enjoy a traditional wedding breakfast at Braxted Park, but we did continue the celebrations at Sarah & Nick’s home in a gorgeous marquee.  How Sarah managed to pull this wedding together with just a weeks notice (due to complying with changing legislation), whilst running their amazing charity The Ark Centre (see link below) is totally beyond me, she totally SMASHED IT.

As the day advanced into the evening, after the bride and groom cut their home made wedding cake (as made by their children), Sarah & Nick’s friends and family partied on hard into the evening.  The live music was the perfect accompaniment to perfectly poured beverages that were supplied by the Tipsy Grey.

This really was a truly emotional day, filled with lots of love and heartfelt moments.  Moments I had the pleasure of capturing.  Nick and Sarah finally, after 15 years of love and 2 children later, finally got their hitch on.

It was a real pleasure to photograph in my own alternative way, such a beautiful Braxted Park wedding. To get the opportunity to spend such a special day with two such lovely people, their two adorable children and their loved ones was also totally awesome.
