Have a question regarding your wedding photography….maybe I can help with the answers of these frequently asked questions ?
WEDDING FAQ’s….
Why do you do this?
I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHING PEOPLE. As you’ve probably noticed from my images on the website, i’m not a fluffy pink girly girl!! I do how ever love meeting people and capturing all the emotions that weddings have a funny way of pulling out of people. I love it even more when the effects of alcohol play a roll in this. I love that all types of people from every corner of this thing called life, club together and do something that is epic. I get to take photos of all these people and put together a story that can be read in a visual, universal language by themselves and every other person that they love and care about…..and thats why I do what I do!!
All day coverage, what exactly does this mean?
In a nutshell, this means that I’ll start from when ever you want me to start to about an hour after the first dance. If you need me to hang around for a little longer for a sparkler exit or fireworks, just let me know and I’ll let the fam know its gonna be a late one.
When and how can we book you?
Well…..I recommend you book as soon as you have set your date, especially if it is in peak season (April-October). I’ll require 30% to hold the date and a signed contract. Unfortunately, I am unable to secure the date without both of these things.
Do you travel?
Hell yeah…..its one of my fav things to do, so my passport is always open and ready go. I am also conveniently based 10 mins from Stansted Airport, which makes life a tad easier.
Travel costs are only applicable for weddings that are outside of the UK. I always try to keep this to a minimum. Alternatively, you are more than welcome to arrange this for me if this is your preference.
Do we need to feed you?
Ahhhh….the age old question. It would be super cool if you do and it gives me the chance to get to know the guests more. Its a well known fact that people prefer having their picture taken when they are more familiar with you. But….I won’t hold it against you if you don’t want to feed me. I’m not one of those photographers that goes into a tizzy because I’ve not been fed, just let me know so that I can bring my trusty lunch box as it is a long day and I will need to refuel at some point. Also, I hate leaving the site and wouldn’t want to miss a single moment.
How many photographs will I receive?
There is no specific amount of images that you will receive from your wedding, but you are guaranteed to receive a minimum amount depending on the length of time I am hired for. For example, you will receive no less than 400 hand edited images for a full day wedding. If you have 2 photographers on your wedding day you will receive more images.
Can we print our photos?
Yes, absolutely. You will have full printing and sharing rights. You will receive your images in both low res and full resolution. You just can’t sell them for commercial gain.
Is it a good idea to meet before a wedding or event?
It’s not totally necessary to meet me in person, but I really do think its a great idea to hook up over a chilled coffee (or sparkling water in my case) before your wedding day. Let’s be honest here, I’m going to be around you for quite a large chunk of your special day, so its only natural that you feel relaxed around me (and vice versa) and that I don’t feel like a total stranger to you.
If you’re unable to fix a convenient time to meet, then I am always available to meet via any of the social media conferencing apps (zoom, skype, facetime etc) so that we can get to know each other a little more and chat about your plans.
Are you insured?
Yes….is the simple answer to this. I am covered for personal indemnity and public liability insurance, and my gear is all insured too.
What would happen if I was to become ill and unable to shoot your wedding?
Well, this has never happened before where I have had to cancel but I do have provisions in place if this scenario was to occur. It would have to be something majorly serious to keep me away from capturing your day.
Do you require a deposit to secure a date?
Yes, in order to secure your date I require 30% of the agreed price to be paid when signing your contract. Once both of these are completed your wedding photography is confirmed. The remaining balance is then due 2 weeks before your date to get married.
Will I need to visit the venue before hand?
I don’t find it necessary to visit a venue beforehand but I will do lots of research about it. I will always turn up to the venue early to have a walk round and have a ‘scout around’ to find the ideal photo spots. The available light on the day and time of year etc, will determined exactly where within your venue, I chose to shoot portrait images etc.
What happens if my camera breaks down on the day?
Never fear with this one, I always make sure I have my backup cameras ready to go just in case this happens. I have a whole range of lenses, camera bodies, batteries and memory cards etc. My camera’s also have duel memory slots just in case one of the memory cards becomes corrupt. After the wedding day, I always back up the images in multiple places, so your photos will always be safe.
You would really love to book me for your wedding, but are worried that the cost is more than you have budgeted for?
I am happy to discuss a scheduled payment plan for you. I also take credit card payments as well as BACS transfers.
Do you only shoot weddings?
Hell no, if you take a look at the main website menu, you’ll see that I also cover other events as well as capturing families. I also love shooting editorial, boxing and personal branding photography. I can be hired to cover all of these genres.
How much will I need to shell out?
Weddings start at £1650, but if you’d like to find out other options available then head over to my contact me page, tell me all about your plans for the day and I’ll give you a quote.
